So the tap dancing recital was Monday night and it was a total blast! When we got to the recital room, my heart started beating really fast as I realized that we were going to be on a real stage. Not a little piddly stage but a real stage! I think I may have said "oh crap" probably a kazillion times as we walked over to a room to practice before the recital began. We were able to practice quite a few times before 'go-time'.
The performance itself went very smoothly. The music didn't quite play loudly enough throughout the whole performance but we were so determined to keep on dancing that it didn't phase us one bit. We wore jeans and a red teeshirt (although the video makes it look like hot pink) as well as a cowboy hat. And we all promised ourselves to smile real big throughout the whole performance and that really was the finishing touch. The intermediate group went before us and didn't smile as much and well...it just didn't look as great.
I am so glad that I did this this fall! I really have taken to tap-dancing and it's a fun thought that I'm 28 years old and still able to pick up new hobbies/abilities. Ok, I know, stop eye-rolling. 28 is young but remember when you were 28 and said 'oh crap, I'm getting older'. Yeahhh... :)
I loved the girls I danced with - Judy, Patti, Ginger and Tammy. And our instructor Diana was super awesome too.

Front Row (L to R): Me and Patti
This picture was taken last week at our last full practice hour. Sniff, sniff...I miss 'em already. What am I going to do on Thursday nights??
Well here is the video taken by my sweets Rich. You can hear him laughing at one point - that made me smile. And there were some points where he tried to zero in on my butt - sorry about that. :) That's my Rich!! Anyway, enjoy...

Grat job Kavita! Well done and I am glad you had so much fun. So, are you signing up for the intermediate class next?
A - I didn't really realize that I was front center until about 20 mins before the performance. It just didn't really cross my mind before then! THank you for the support.
M - Thank you! My troupe is retaking the beginners class because the intermediate is so hard. I might try both and see what happens.
Awesome! I cracked up at the butt zoom in... Will does that, too. (I have too many pics of my butt!)
