I've fallen in love with one steamy, hunky machine....
Hello McSteamy! Yes, this is my steam cleaner for the carpets. Big boy, huh?
I got this guy several years back when Shila had tummy problems and was shitting all over my carpet. And it was bad. It was messy poop and sometimes she'd walk through it by mistake and so there would also be poop paw prints all over the house. It was grrrr-rosssss! Every day for about a week I'd come home to this and being the germaphobe I was (and still am) I knew that I had to suck it up and purchase a steam cleaner. Thank goodness for McSteamy!
The first couple of years, I only used him to clean up messes and then when I moved in to Rich's, I decided that one day I would do all of the carpet. And thus grew my love affair with my McSteamy! It's relatively easy to use, although very heavy and it does such a fabulous job. I love the feeling of a freshly cleaned carpet. It has a certain feel to it. The best is waking up the next morning and being the first one to walk on the carpet and feel it's ever so slight crunch. I simply love it!
It's ironic too that I chose to steam clean the carpets the same weekend that I'm making my way through the book Prescription Fatigue. The book asks you to list all of the things you do to re-fill your energy bucket. I realized that steam cleaning gives me such joy that I just had to add it to the list. I know...it might sound strange but I swear, it really does do the trick!
And while I was sprucing up the house, I made this little lovely...
The bowl is only as small as can fit in your hand but I decided to make a small floating flower arrangement amongst a bed of little rocks. Cute, huh? I made a couple of these and put them around the house. I was fairly proud of myself.
This past long 4 day weekend was great! I 100% unplugged from work and loved it. The weekend included house cleaning, yard work, yoga, running, bookstore, cooking, pool party, lots of napping, relaxing reading in the pool and eating. It was perfect! I hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend!
And before I close, I have an important question for you....
Are you a McSteamy or a McDreamy fan? :) Me? I'm all about the McSteamy...
Peace,
~k

Clean carpets do kinda soothe the soul, you are right! I'll take either or as far as the men are concerned. :)
I want a McSteamy for my bathroom. Obviously not a carpet guy, but one who likes to lure and caress away the soap scum on my tub and shower. P.S. Love, love, love the beautiful arrangement. You're just full of lovely things. <3
Oh McSteamy - it's that whole bad boy thing... oh and the imploring good looks. And I so wish I had a steam cleaner like that! My carpets are desperate!
Ally
I truly envy you your machine, you know what a clean junkie I am:)
Oh yes blue violet, you gotta love a nice clean carpet. :)
Heather, when you find that kind of mcsteamy, please let me know! I need a tub scrubber too.
Ally, I'm 100% with you! And I highly encourage you to see if you can save up for one of those bad boys and make sure you use a Bed Bath Beyond 20% off coupon.
I know Mum, I've inherited some of those genes!
I'll take either one!!
