She turned around suddenly seeing before her eyes the terror that she had only known through her daily nightmares. The nightly visions had taken residence in her mind, plaguing her thoughts with an unwanted disease. She had struggled through her days, pushing through the thick fog of monotony, grasping on to a diminishing strand of hope. She wasn't really present in life. She felt more and more that she was merely drifting afloat in her sea of despair, waiting for the days to pass, for time to elapse - waiting for her visions to materialize in front of her.

How could it be? So soon? She thought that she would have at least had a month before the inevitable. She was relieved at his arrival but still shocked at his speed. He was here, standing above her, looking as stoic as she had imagined. Dressed all in black, his face a shade of indescribable grey. His eyes communicated what his mouth needn't have to and she knew exactly what he was here to do.

Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath and exhaled it all out, clearing her mind and finally feeling the clarity she had sought all this time. She was finally ready. Ready for her long awaited escape from her prison.

Yes, random thoughts. Random story. Felt like being creative.

Good, I was getting a bit worried about you! :)

Didn't mean to worry anybody. I'm reading a book called The Book Thief which inspired me to write about the idea of utter despair.
