She's back at it!

Warning - there are a lot of exclamation marks in this post.
Consider yourself warned!

So what am I back at? Oh yes my friends, tonight was our third tap dancing recital! Fabulous! Tonight we rocked out to Wake me Up by Wham! Total kick back to the 80's and I loved it. I totally felt likeGeorge Michael and his poofy hair! I wish I had poofy hair like that!

So some of you may remember that I began my adventures in tap dancing last September when I finally acted on my desire to Fred Astaire across a dance floor. Some people dream of changing the world, of starting a new company, etc, etc....I dreamt of tap dancing! I began with a beginner's class and fell in love immediately with this zany type of dancing. Come January, I began round two of beginner's class. Our teacher had recommended that we stay in the beginner's class so we did and boy was she right! We still had a lot to learn. :) Recital #2 was in March and I was lucky enough to have my sister from L.A. watch me strutt my stuff!

And then in April of this year, I moved up in the world. I upgraded to the intermediate class. Now listen, this class kicked my arse! Kicked it! Kicked it HARD! Kicked it GOOD! I nearly threw in the towel after class 3 but luckily my buddies convinced me to continue tapping and we even began practicing in between classes to keep up with everybody else. Needless to say, I have been a bit MIA the past 2 months due to a very busy schedule of dance practice! Haha - I feel like Jessica Parker in Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! "All I wanna do is dance"! I love that movie.

Anyway, I digress!! Where was I? See, what happens when I have cereal for dinner? I'm all over the place and all you wanna do is watch the video and not read my jibber jabber. :) Ok, so yes, lots and lots of practising brought us to our recital night - tonight! I apologize for not inviting any of my local friends. I didn't realize how fast it was approaching and I didn't get my act together to send out an email. Plus...I'll be honest....I was REALLY nervous! I wasn't sure if I was ready to have people watch me this time round other than my Richie (my trusty videographer!).

Before I let you hit the play button let me leave you with my final thought. It really feels good to have found a life-time hobby! See I have this problem...my hobbies only last so long. It's like I have hobby-ADD and it's pretty frustrating but this? This tap dancing thing? I think it's going to stick! :) That feels good to say out loud. Well, you know, to type out loud. You get what I mean.

And without further ado......here are my girlfriends and I dancing to Wake Me Up by Wham!!

Kav,

You and your friends rocked that dance! I loved it. I had such a huge smile on my face the whole time I watched this video. It was such a long routine, how did you keep that all straight? I would have been lost right after the first "go-go"!

Thanks for posting this, you made my day!

Jan

Thanks Mum! I did a small wiggle just for you in there. :)

Lizzie - I swear that there are days where I feel so low in energy and I force myself to go to class and feel so totally great at the end. it's amazing!

Jan - it was hard to keep it all straight! A lot of the moves are the same but they are all not in order. Made it very hard but just practice, practice, practice!

Thanks Michelle! Next recital, I will make sure to send out an invite to everybody. Love ya lots!
