Grateful

Oh what a great trip we had in Portland! We both had such a fabulous time...I don't even know where to start. :) I'll be honest...I'm feeling overwhelmed with the thought of trying to recapture the beauty of this city in a blog but I'll do my best and chip away at it.

As I mentionned before, this trip was part pleasure and part business for me. For Rich it was all fun as he didn't have a conference to attend! We spent the first three days together exploring the city and some outlying areas. And then the next three days I attended a national conference that was terrific! It was inspiring to be amongst such progressive minds for three full days and be exposed to new ideas and concepts. :) I could go on and on but I'd probably bore you so....I won't. :)

Anyway, back to the pleasure part...I want to show you a couple pics of our fun trip to Portland. And as usual, I will tell my story through pictures as it is the easiest (and most fun!) way...

The first thing we did was get together for lunch with Jan from PetalsYoga! I was excited to meet this awesome lady in person and we had a delightful lunch. Jan is full of energy and has a very peaceful and open heart!
I of course forgot my camera so we ended up taking a picture in the parking lot as we said our goodbyes.
Thank you Jan for giving us a good introduction to Portland!

We visited many small parks in Portland - this is one of them which I can't remember the name of, haha! But the trees were so tall and beautiful. I couldn't help but take a picture.

We were told many times by different people that Powell's bookstore was a must-see and boy were they right! This bookstore takes up an entire block and is four stories high! It's an independent bookstore (weeeeee!) and has an impressive collection of books. I loved the antique library feel of it. Rich and I feel very much at home in any bookstore we made more than one trip to this treasure.

Our first day in Portland was Rich's birthday! We both felt like pasta so we tried out a hip little joint by our hotel called Pasta Pastini (maybe?). Rich turned one year old as show in the picture above, hahaha!

Listen, give a girl cake and wine and she just can't be happier!

My love and I after a very nice birthday dinner. We met a very friendly couple at dinner too - I wish I had asked for their contact information! We found overrall that folks in Portland were very kind and social...made for a great vacation, especially when we got lost!

More to come on the Portland trip later...

Thank you MoMo! I'm glad that I could finally visit Portland after hearing so many wonderful stories. :)

Lori Ann, Powells was awesome. It reminded me of my young love for books. I'm trying to recapture that love as we speak! And thank you for the birthday wishes that I will pass on to Richie.
