Given blood recently? No? Click here to make yourself an appointment! The way I figure it is that one day I might need somebody else's blood. May as well give back now.
I had to have 16 whole packs of blood transfused into me when I was bleeding out after surgery in 1993. I'd be dead today if it weren't for the generosity of blood donors like you! Thanks Kavita!
Wish I could give blood back but they turn me away every time. Drat.
Jan, I am so thankful that there are donors out there - especially those 16 people that saved your life. I used to get turned away because of low iron but moving in with Rich gave me 10 extra pounds so now i have no problems with my iron level!!
Lizzie, I'm glad that it made you smile. It made me smile too. :)
Earlier this year I finally drummed up the courage to give blood, but I was denied because I lived in England during the whole Mad Cow Disease drama. Of all the places I've lived in the world, the most "civilized" of them is the one on the hit list!
Miriam, I had the same experience being a Brit myself. I felt really sad about it because I would love to be able to donate on a regular basis. I was told the blood people here are working with the UK to develop a blood test to detect it so that people may be able to donate in the future. Ah well, there you go.

Miriam and Mo - I didn't know that!! That totally sucks. I can personally vow for you both that you don't have mad cow disease!
