Today I just had to post about the wedding day shoes! A lament and a joy. Last week, my besty Kelly was in town for several days and so we went to the mall to look for wedding day shoes. After looking at several places and not finding too much, we headed to Nordstroms. The first pair of shoes smiled at me and I gladly smiled back. They were so sparkly and elegant, I couldn't say no.
I promise you that I felt like I was stumbling around the store on these 4 inch heels, but I decided that they were so worth it! Although they were Jessica Simpson's (whaaaaa???) I took the plunge. I ordered myself a size 7 since there weren't any sizes left in the store and patiently, patiently waited. 3 days later...they were at my doorstep!
Uh-oh.
I forgot how uncomfortable they were. I stumbled around the house. Maybe if I lock my knees while I walk? What if I unlock my knees while I walk? Hmm, no better. I simply cannot walk without looking like a newborn giraffe.
I walked with them on around the house for a couple days with my fingers crossed, hoping that it would just 'come to me'. Keep in mind that I have a very wonky spine and hence don't wear spikey heels much at all! As cute as those shoes are and as hard as I tried, I just couldn't make them work. My toes were squished and I was constantly in pain. And don't forget the baby giraffe. :) In the end, there was no way I could justify being in such pain on one of the most special days of my life.
Enter shoes numero dos! I spotted them online and fell in love with their flare. They were satin as well, purple but no brooch. Oh well, you can't win them all! This is the first time I've tried purchasing shoes online and I was pleasantly surprized. They came in the mail today and with a 3 1/4 inch heel they are fabulous! Needless to say the Jessica Simpson's are going back to Nordstroms. Sorry Jessie! I really wanted to make it work...sigh...
So because they are for the wedding, here is a partial picture of the shoes. I can't give away all of my secrets!

Ummmmm, beautiful! I think the shoes help you feel even sexier on your wedding day. Too bad the Jessica Simpson ones didn't work out. Good thing you found that out before the big day!
I love shoes too...but like I mentioned before, when it's your wedding day you MUST wear something comfortable. Afterall, it is too important of an event to be in any discomfort!
Oh you shoe tease! I love the first pair and the color of the second. I haven't worn any kind of heel for over 10 years so I can't imagine the torture of these shoes. I hope the pair you ended up with leaves your feet happy and ready to dance down the aisle with Rich!
Post as much wedding stuff as you want. I love wedding details!
