Fun, eh? :)
How is everybody? Gosh I feel like it's been forever since I last posted! Here are some updates! Warning - wedding invitation spoiler up ahead...
Wedding Update:
Life has been very busy with wedding invitations! The good news is that they are finally all DONE and in the mail - weeee! You have no idea how excited I am about that! Really, really, really excited about it. I feel like these invitations have been plaguing me (us) for a while. From printing to reprinting to buying ribbon to making tissue paper inserts to mailing addresses to assembly to postage...goodness, reliving the whole ordeal gives me a cold sweat! 140 invitations are now in the mail and we are DONE! Did I mention the excitement? Last week we spent every evening assembling and Rich was a fantastic helper. In fact the last night we were assembling, he was churning them out so fast that I had to tell him to take a break so that I could catch up! Although it was a lot of hard work, we saved a ton of money and they came out perfect...so perfect. Sorry that this picture is a bit blurry…it really doesn’t do these invitations any justice at all as the ribbon is a very shiney punchy orange. It looks kinda limp and lame in this picture – haha!
We have also done a bit of shopping which has been fun. It's a free shopping spree - you can't go wrong with that, now, can you? We got a ton of Bed Bath Beyond (BBB) gift cards at the bridal shower so we used some of them but are doing it wisely using BBB 20% off coupons. In fact I just won a bid on ebay to buy 10 coupons for $5 - awesome! Of course we could get these for free but it would take ages to accumulate 10 of them and we're trying to use up the gift cards to buy up items on our registry before everybody else does. There is only so much stuff one can purchase from Bed Bath Beyond! It's kind of a wierd phenomen to buy items from your own registry but it's worked out so far. We got bedding for the guest bedroom which is a relief because that room really needs an update! The most fabulous item we bought though was a shower radio!
So it's just over 2 months till the big day. Holy crap. I just threw up a little in my mouth. :) No, just kidding but as every day gets crossed off the list, the wedding seems more and more of a reality! We visited with the hotel recently and did a walk-through of where everything was going to go and that itself made my heart beat a little faster. 2 months!!! 2 MONTHS!!! Arghhhhhhhhhhh!! I have a bridal updo trial this weekend as well as a bridal gown alteration appointment. Holy crap....this is becoming SO REAL! I think I might have a mini meltdown this Saturday as the alteration appointment will be right after the hair appointment so I will get to see the whole get-up. Gulp.
Did I mention that as of today, we have two flower girls? I asked my dear friend Mo if her hubby and her would be willing to have her girls walk down the aisle and she said YES! She has the two most adorable girls and I am thrilled to have them be a part of the ceremony. They will be so ridiculously cute, I can't wait!
I have a couple art projects I want to work on for the wedding:
- A gift card box - found a super cute idea online and am dying to save up coupons from Michaels to make it!
- A shadowbox for a scrapbook page of remembering Rich's Dad
- Unique aisle runner I love that I have such a great excuse to be artsy!
I also need to make a posterboard thinga-ma-jig for the assigned seating. I sooooo wish that we didn't have to do assigned seating but it just makes the most sense for our guests. Sigh...extra work...but.....my family will be here end of October to help and that will be fabulous!
Family? Yes, family! My Mum, Dad and little sister are flying in end of October and then my older sister and her hubby will be here shortly thereafter. So not only is it a wedding but a family reunion! So freakin' excited to have them here. :)
Wow. I actually started writing this post feeling quite blah (see subject line) but talking about the wedding has made me all happy again! I have been PMS'ing this week (uh-oh) and so this evening I was feeling a bit grumpy which is when I found this which so accurately described my state of mind about an hour ago...
Funny, huh?
I am a little afraid to tell you that my whole life right now revolves around wedding stuff. Yes, I have become THAT woman but it will be short-term, I promise. I have been pretty good about keeping the blog somewhat wedding free (and keeping my life very balanced as well I'm proud to say) but I have to warn you that all limits have been lifted as my excitement cannot contain itself from this dear blog of mine, nor my life! So, if you take a hiatus from reading this blog until mid-November, have no fear, I will not be offended!
One last update for you...
Bone Marrow Donor:
Have you joined as yet? Ever thought about it?? I highly recommend that you look up the National Marrow Donor Program. I first thought about doing this back when I was in College when the Asian community put a call out for Asian bone marrow donors but honestly, I was too chicken to do it because I heard how painful it was. I was perusing the mall a couple weekends ago only to find that the bone marrow donor program had found another way to present itself to me. I knew instantly that I should do it. Of course I asked about the pain but this time round I didn't really care. Call it maturity, call it whatever you want but I realized that if surgery was needed to get my bone marrow out, I would rather put up with the soreness so that I can help somebody else out. I know...I sound like such a freakin' martyr (insert eye roll)...but honestly, I don't know how else to put it. It seemed like the right thing to do. I really hope that I am a match for somebody. Although I'll be nervous as hell, I can't wait to be able to give back. Please...if you've had ever thought about it but haven't signed up, please go online and check it out.
Softball:
I suck, what's more to talk about? Haha! Well, let me clarify that I suck at catching and throwing. I played catcher recently and couldn't even throw long enough to make it to the pitcher. The ball would end up rolling it's way back to him. Pathetic! But...I'm still an awesome batter! Well...kinda. :) My groin muscles are all good as new but unfortunately Rich pulled his hamstring and he's now out for a game. I swear...we're breaking down, the both of us!
Water for who?
Water for Elephants, that's who. It's the book I'm reading and I'm already falling in love with it and I'm only 12 pages in. It came highly recommended from many friends and bloggies. It's good to be reading a fabulous book. :)And that's it for now! No more updates. Until later...
Peace out,
Kavita

I wish you had told me you needed BBB coupons - I have DOZENS!!! No joke. I gave 10 of them to my friend as a bridal shower present (it was well received). Stop buying them since I have plenty to spare and I'll send you some if you need more.
Woo Hoo! We are SO honored that our girls are to be YOUR flower girls. What an honor. I am still grinning from ear to ear, (and looking at girly dresses too!) Can't wait even more now!
