This is my all-time favorite picture of my Mum! I love seeing and hearing my Mum laugh and there's such an innocence to this picture. :) I can tell that my Mum is laughing pretty hard but trying to be lady-like about it.
Cute, huh?

Mother's Day, and really any other special day of the year whether it's a religious holiday, birthday or yesterday, are somewhat bitter sweet for our family. For all us who have family that are far apart from us we all know all too well that these days are always a reminder of the distance that separates us. Phone calls, e-cards even video chat have all helped with the distance but in the end, it kinda just...well...you know...it kinda just blows. :) Yeah I know...I didn't really sugar coat that one. I don't think there is a nice way to digest that!
But I don't want to be Unhappy Ursula here so let me tell you about yesterday! As soon as I woke up Rich reminded me to call home. Yes Mum - Rich remembered before I did! The time difference with India is 11.5 hours so you really do have a small window to make any type of phone call. Thankfully we both woke up pretty early on Sunday and were able to capitalize on the time.
"Happy Mother's Day!" we chimed.
"Thank you...or you could say "Happy Udder's Day!" was the response we got! That was my little sister's joke. An ode to the body part that makes a certain animal a mother, I guess. :) Nevertheless, we all got a good chuckle out of it and we had a fabulous phone conversation.
I am very grateful to my Dad and my little sister Crish (or piglet as we like to call her) for showing my Mum a great Mother's Day. She deserves it! They went out shopping to a nice mall, ate out and had a nice little outing of it all. I wish I could have been there to spoil my Mum a bit but I know that my Dad and Crish did an awesome job.
And so to my Mama...Happy Mother's Day! Thank you for being all that you are and raising us so well! All three of us girls have learned so much from you and we will all strive to be just as great Mothers (in due time) as you have been. You have always been and will always be my favorite Mother!! :) Teehee!! And before anything is said about the need to post more current pics...here are two of my favorites of my Mum from the wedding...
Ahhh, bliss! I love the picture of my Mum and Dad dancing! I should frame that one. :)
I sincerely hope that you all had a beautiful Mother's Day whether you were celebrating as a Mother or as a son/daughter or both! And one more time...Happy Mother's Day Mum!
Love,
~Kavita, Rich, Taz & Shila
