Here are some more eating, praying and loving updates for you...
- Eating swordfish steaks - yum. I made a trip to LA in April to film an entire episode with my sister Aarti on her most awesome cooking show Aarti Party! We cooked alongside each other... - wait - ...I was her assistant as she did the cooking (!) and we had a blast. The episode aired some time this summer and it went quite smoothly. My appreciation for my sister's skills and raw talent went through the roof as I watched her in action. AMAZING. It was fun to shoot with her! And yes, I am still waiting the tv offers. They must be...umm...having a hard time finding my...umm...mailing address.
- Praying for the Colorado stars to align. My sweet Rich and I vacationed in Denver and LA over the Summer. LA for a grand Persian wedding and then Denver just for fun! I grew to admire the Persian culture and how tight knit their families are and how close they stay to their ageless traditions. The wedding was g.l.a.m.o.r.o.u.s and I was in awe. And then I fell in swoon with the sweet charm of Denver. If I could, I would move to Denver. The older traditional homes, the greenery, the down town area, the friendliness of the locals. Love, love love. Unfortunately Rich is still loving the idea of Seattle but we haven't yet been there in the dead (or should I say flood) of winter. And ps - no we are not moving. Just dreaming.
- Loving my new hair cut! Yes, I cut my hair. I woke up one summer morning and decided that I had done the long hair thing for long enough. I thankfully remembered about the amazing organization Locks of Love and knew instantly it had to happen. So off I went to my hair dresser with a large zip locked bag. It was hard to do but once I got over the anxiety of the 12 inch chop, it felt great! I hope my hair went to good use. :) It's now a smidge above my shoulders and is streaked red (although I'll be switching away from that soon). Let's just say the red haired vixen persona isn't quite me. And definitely doesn't match the shabby chic feel, hello...
- Eating my way to health. I started seeing a naturopathic doctor and am leaning more and more towards natural medicine. I found out that I have all kinds of body parts that are not working - my adrenal glands, my lady hormones and my thyroid. I have something called Hashimoto's which is an auto-immune disorder but I swear that it still sounds like the local Japanese sushi joint. I'm doing fine - just making my way through the treatment plan and taking one day at a time. Hmmm. T.o.d.a.a.t. Cute, huh? Bodaat is todaat. Oh my gosh - I just cutified myself out! I might have to make this in to a whole post of its own.
- Praying for my girl. Shila's hip dysplasia and arthritis got worse - insert sad face. However turn that frown upside down because she's been on a 8 week anti-inflammatory shot regimen and that is helping tremendously. She's back to bounding around the house and being supremely cute and annoying at the same time. :) Oh, my love!
- Loving where we live right now and loving even more (uh-hum) the idea of a new home to call our own! Richie and I are still on the house search. Over a year of looking and I think it's safe to say we are picky. Who, us? We've made a couple offers here and there but haven't fared well just yet. The home with our name on it is still waiting to be find its way to us, I just know it!
I hope to get on here more and find my love of writing again. I'm still making my rounds and getting caught up with everybody's blogs so please bare (bear?) with me.
ps - I need a new 'peace out' phrase to sign out. Hmm - maybe 'peace out'? Let's give it a roll and see how it shakes out.
~peace out~

So glad you are back! I am loving the peony background by the way. They are some of my favorite flowers even though they are major ant attracters (have you ever notice that?). Anyways I'm glad to hear all is well. I'll be thinking about you and your doggie as you get on the path to wellness!
yes, welcome back! your new look is so pretty and shabby and chic! glad to hear all is well, and i hope you find a new home soon!

Laura, it is unfortunately very hard to find peonies in the stores here. :( On occasion I'll find them at Whole Foods but they are usually hella expensive. I didn't know about the ant attraction though. Boo on that.
Thanks Lori! Glad to be back. :)
Thanks Mum - there will be more shenanigans, I'm sure.
Hi Nicky, I checked out pinterest once before but wasn't quite jiving with it however it's now picking up popularity so perhaps I'll try it again. Will keep you posted!
Love Denver. I'd move there in a heartbeat. I have family just outside of Denver (a 1/2 hour drive up the mountain) and a good friend there, too.
Its my dream city. I love snow, too.
Oh and I, too, am glad you are back to blogging! I missed ya!
Welcome back!
Oooh, oooh - come to Seattle! :) Though I admit I would LOVE to visit Colorado.
Sorry about Shila, but glad the shots are helping. If you are like me, your pet is as important as any human family member.
And yay for the naturopathic approach - good for you! Hope you get things balanced out in your favor.
Ally
Leaner, we should all move! And we can grab MoMo as well - I know she would love Denver. :)
Thanks Ally! I was happy to see you and Lela still blogging and keeping up the sass. :)
Sounds like an exciting hiatus! Poor little Shila. I hope she gets better sooner than later. It seems like everyone loves Denver. Sorry to hear about your wacky Japanese-named health issues. Glad to hear you're not letting it rule your life! And umm, glad you're back!
