I forgot...

...to tell you about my appointment with the spine specialist. Some of you already know but my doc has sent me to physical therapy which I start this week on Tuesday, bright and early at 8am. Urgh. The doctor seemed very nice, efficient and knowledgable - the right combination for me. The good news is that she wants to see me again in a month. The bad news is that she doesn't know what is causing my hip pain. She said it might be an inflammed tendon. I asked her how to de-flame it. She didn't find that very funny.

Anyway so hopefully the physical therapy will help. I've never been before so I'm a little anxious...more so because I don't know what to expect but I also am confident that it will go smoothly. I want to start belly dancing in March (and continue tap dancing) so I've let my hip know that I'm on a bit of a time crunch and that it better start playing nice. It didn't like my demands and hence gave me trouble yesterday. Grrrrr.

If you've had any experience with physical therapy and have any pointers, please let me know as I'm totally clueless. What should I wear? Do I need a sports bra on? Will I need to take my shoes off? If so I need to paint my toe nails - they look atrocious right now. Funny how some people paint their toe nails for Valentine's day yet I'll be doing it for physical therapy. Ha! If anything momentous happens at physical therapy, I'll probably be blogging about it.

Later...

Sorry, I've got nothing.

But yeah, make sure you are groomed and have clean underwear on.

yes, sports bra. Usually at the first appointment you just get talked to, and some simple exercises. Its basically like having a personal trainer. At least mine was.

Bella - groomed and cleaned underwear? What kind of therapy am I going to again?

Aartilla - will definitely wear my stretchy pants! And yes my tap dancing friend has convinced me that bely dancing is a great work out so I'm in!

Leaner - Thank you for the advice! Especially on the sports bra... that would have been uncomfortable if I had to treadmill it. Eeeesh!
